Prana vidya

Prana is life force and vidya is life knowledge. Prana Vidya is the study of and intentional work with life force. TriYoga Prana Vidya is a systematized breath practice that expands the heart, opens the nadis (energy channels of the body) and helps to free the mind creating balance and ease over time.

Basics TriYoga® Prana Vidya includes Pranayama (rhythmic breathing), Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation). This introductory course will cover the Daily 5 pranayama practices in Basics level TriYoga® sequences as well as the concentration and meditation techniques.

The benefits of a Prana Vidya practice with these techniques include:

Expansion of life energy

Maintenance of natural way of breathing

Opening chest freeing the breath

Reducing stress and tension

Maintaining healthy diaphragm

Strengthening heart and regulating blood pressure

Revitalizing the blood

Massaging abdominal organs, promoting circulation and elimination

Enhancing elimination of toxins from lungs

In addition, we cover Dharana and Dhyana practices for Basics level TriYoga. These practices include light visualization, inner mantra and breath. Throughout Prana Vidya, we build our internal energy with the breathing practicing, focus the energy with concentration practices and then merge our energy with the unified field of energy in meditation. Dissolving into meditation after these powerful preparatory practices becomes an effortless flow.

From here, with this foundation in place, we can move into Level 1 Prana Vidya practice.
